Welcome Our New Safeguarding Officer — Olivia Feldman
Kirk Deighton Rangers JFC is delighted to welcome Olivia Feldman as our new Safeguarding Officer.
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, and Olivia’s role is key to ensuring that every child involved with our club feels safe, supported, and valued. She will be the main point of contact for any safeguarding matters — promoting policies that protect children from abuse, neglect, or harm, and making sure all our practices put young people first.
Her responsibilities include:
- Making sure all staff and volunteers have up-to-date DBS checks
- Promoting a child-centered, positive environment across the club
- Providing support and guidance around safeguarding concerns
- Reporting serious issues to the County FA, police, or children’s services when needed
With the support of the senior management team, Olivia will also:
- Ensure full compliance with safer recruitment procedures
- Review and strengthen our current safeguarding practices
- Raise awareness and deliver training on safeguarding topics
- Encourage a culture where children’s voices are always heard
A Message from Olivia:
I took on the role of Welfare Officer for Kirk Deighton Rangers JFC in September 2025 because I wanted to give something back to the community and help create a positive, safe and enjoyable environment for all children and young people at our club. Football should be a place where every child feels welcome, included and confident to enjoy the game, and I’m passionate about supporting that.
As Welfare Officer, my role is to put the wellbeing of our players first. I am here as the main point of contact for any welfare or safeguarding concerns, and I work closely with coaches, parents and volunteers to make sure we maintain a child-centred approach where every voice is respected.
I help ensure safer recruitment processes are followed, including DBS checks and safeguarding training, and I support the promotion of the club’s child protection policies across all age groups. My aim is to help foster a culture built on care, respect and inclusion — on and off the pitch.
Most importantly, I want every child to feel valued, supported and happy to be part of Kirk Deighton Rangers. I am always here to listen, to help, and to make sure football remains a fun, safe and positive space for everyone involved.
