Playing away at Bradford City, two strong teams put on a delightful display of passing football in a fiercely contested match which was an excellent advert for female football. A very even first half was approaching half time when a wonderful through ball from midfield picked out our striker who shrugged off a defensive challenge and rounded the keeper to put us ahead. We came out strongly in the second half and a brilliant burst of attacking play took the game beyond Bradford. Our second was a tap in from a cross at the far post but it was scored by our left winger who bust a gut to get into the area. With some incisive passes we quickly scored two more which deflated Bradford. A long kick from our goalkeeper evaded Bradford's defence and reached our striker who completed her hat trick. The goal scoring was book ended with a carbon copy of the first goal. A very impressive performance, more so missing two important layers who were self-isolating. The 6-0 win puts us top of the table.

We hosted Wigton Moor on a not untypically windy day at Grange Park. In the first half we played into the wind and despite the difficulty this produced played reasonably well. Wigton took the league with a cross that was going backwards before the wind caught it and blew it into the top corner. We completely dominated the second half, our keeper only touched the ball once (to take a goal kick) but Wigton defended superbly. We missed countless chances, their goalkeeper was on fire, we rattled the crossbar, were denied by a few goal goalmouth scrambles and it really felt like it was going to be one of those days. Then we got a bit of luck as a wind assisted corner was fumbled in by their goalkeeper. The girls kept going and a rather innocuous 25 yarder skimmed through lots of legs and deceived the keeper to put us ahead. The final score was a hard fought 2-1 win.

An away fixture at Ilkley Town against a strong team on a big pitch. The girls defended stoutly for fifteen minutes and then against the run of play scored a rarity in girls football - a headed goal from a corner. Five minutes later another excellent corner was volleyed home to make it 2-0. We scored an excellent third with a fine finish, followed by two more in the second half for a very professional 5-0 victory.
